My name is Dennis Tae Wook Kim, a 3D Generalist and VFX artist working in film and cinematics. I grew up immersed in video games and fantastical films, but also fell in love with contemporary paintings. After receiving a BFA in painting from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2015, I decided to pursue CG as a better medium to express my imagination and stories. This decision led me to the Gnomon School of VFX where I was exposed to 3D tools for the first time.
I am constantly amazed by how much of the real world can be replicated, restructured, and re-imagined in 3D. My favorite moments are when I discover alternative work-arounds to solve a problem, and when pieces from different parts of the pipeline come together.
My dream is to blend CG with real world elements to create a visual dictionary for my own creations to live in.
